This 12-inch cutter suction dredger is equipped with a 300 dredging pump, capable of producing 1500-2000 m³/h of clean water, with an hourly output of 225-400 m³/h. This is sufficient for a production capacity of 300 m³/h. It also boasts comprehensive other features, including ample power. Both the main and auxiliary engines are powered by Weichai engines, with rated power of 735 kW and 205 kW respectively. The main engine’s power maintains the stable operation of the entire vessel, working in conjunction with the auxiliary engines to control lighting and hydraulic systems, achieving dual-engine drive. The entire vessel’s operation is controlled via buttons in the cab, allowing the operator to centrally manage operations and ensure safe and stable operation.
In construction environments with strong winds and high waves, the vessel is prone to constant rocking. When the cutter head is in hard soil, the hydraulic pressure becomes extremely unstable, potentially causing it to stall.
First, the construction team must stop work and install wave-resistant hydraulic compensators on the bridge. Second, the dredging depth must be controlled. Then, an anti-stalling hydraulic system should be installed.
Furthermore, the mud pump’s wear varies depending on the hardness of the soil. Its wear is directly proportional to the specific gravity of the mud particles. These harsh soil conditions severely impact the mud pump’s lifespan. Therefore, the construction team’s solution is to apply wear-resistant welds and mesh welds to the mud pump to extend its service life.
Each dredging team faces different construction environments, so understanding the environment before construction is crucial to ensuring the dredging vessel operates normally and without damage to its equipment.
